The Steering Group is a diverse and voluntary body responsible for overseeing the UKSTORE project. It includes representatives from all UK nations, major stakeholders, lay members, and patient representatives, as well as experts in various medical fields.
The Group’s main role is to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the UKSTORE project on behalf of the University of Leeds (the current funder and sponsor) and key stakeholders. The Group provides advice on strategic objectives, monitors progress, reviews governance risks, and ensures compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
Additionally, the Steering Group helps the project team in complex issues such as sensitive findings, political implications, and external relationships with other organisations. They review proposals for significance protocol changes, assist in preparing reports, and encourage large-scale funding bids and research partnerships to secure the future of the UKSTORE database.
Are you interested in joining our steering group? We are looking for people who can represent the voice of patients and the general public in the UKSTORE project. You don’t need to have a medical or research background, but you do need to have a strong passion for representing the interests and needs of patients, ensuring their perspectives are heard and considered in healthcare research. If you are interested in joining our group, please get in touch via ukstore@leeds.ac.uk.
